The music

A prayerful invocation of the Holy Spirit, asking for guidance, understanding and the gifts of the Spirit. Drawing on a Bulgarian folk melody, the music begins gently before developing into a more insistent and joyful appeal: “Holy Spirit, come, possess us.” The repeated invocation of the Spirit gives the piece a strong sense of prayer and expectation.
